Liv was ranked #2 highest earning entertainer in 2014 by Billboard this week, and was the highest ranking individual AND female, coming in second to One Direction! Her earnings were broken down into sales ($3.2m), streaming ($813k), publishing ($1.2m) and touring topping them all at $24.9M thanks to her huge Prismatic world tour which started in May 2014 and isn't due to finish until October 2015. Congrats Liv!

TWITTER Q&A WITH LIV!

So most of you have probably heard about Liv's impromptu Twitter Q&A which she treated us to last night while she was on her plane from Macau to New York! She started the whole thing off by encouraging people to submit questions with the hashtag #askliv and everything got a little chaotic so I decided to go through the whole session and write each question out that she received, along with the answer :) Well done to all the lucky Hartbeats who got their questions picked! ♥

@karmakameleon: what would you say your biggest everyday challenge is and how do you overcome it?
@LivHart: Expectations vs. reality, I'm guilty of setting the former way too high - haven't found a way to overcome it yet, answers on a postcard??

@liveforliv: what made u write by the grace of god? it's my fave song on the whole of prism and you sound so emotional whenever u sing it live <3
@LivHart: It's as autobiographical as it sounds, wrote it after my divorce as things started to get better, def has the biggest emotional connection.

@YellerBeller: what are you wearing
@LivHart: A baggy t-shirt with pizza stains and my sister's pajama pants, they have sheep on. Wink wink, rawr!

@HannahJaggah: Who do you most want to collab with in 2015 xx
@LivHart: The reason I don't collab much = I'M SO CONTROLLING! But in my dream world I would make an exception for Joni Mitchell (cliche, sorry).

@kdsfdhead110: WHY ARE YOU SO UGLY? seriously why?? P.S. FIX YOUR FACE (ESPECIALLY YOUR NOSE).
@LivHart: Because God wanted to prove that even plain looking girls can be a success in showbiz if they have the heart and soul and drive <3 P.S. NO.

@udderlygorg: Why do you release music under the name Liv Hart and not Liv Peris?
@LivHart: My parents didn't want me to use our family name, they are involved heavily with the church and didn't want a bad reflection on them.

@prismatickat: if u had to steal a song from another artist what would it be?
@LivHart: Literally anything Eva Luton has ever written because she writes poetry not lyrics and I would love to be a poet.

@chumbawumba12: Is there anything weird you find attractive in people? I REALLY LOVE MOLES!
@LivHart: MOLES NEED LOVE TOO but I love dorky habits, weird passions and interests, stamp collectors and bird watchers are adorable to me!

@jessicalessica: What memory would you forget if you were able to?
@LivHart: None, our painful memories make us who we are and I love who I am, changing something from my past would mean changing me. NEVER CHANGE YOU!

@hubba2231: how do you deal with your constant critics, media hungry to tear you down etc?
@LivHart: Prayer, wine, tears and a good support system... sometimes it does get too much but that's okay, challenges are there to help us grow x

This was a great Q&A and Liv answered some really interesting questions! I LOVE the way she will always address a hater question when she does these things... ha ha ha, keep being awesome Liv!

The video that started it all...

Controversial musician Liv Hart, renowned for her ability to offend with her lyrics, music videos and live performances alike, is at it again. During a concert in Taiwan Hart draped the country's flag around her shoulders as she performed her single Unconditionally, wearing a dress emblazoned with sunflowers, a microphone stand that looked like a giant sunflower, and surrounded by dancers wearing sunflower costumes.

No big deal, right? Wrong. Taiwan's recent Sunflower Student Movement, which used a sunflower as its official symbol, was a series of protests that addressed conflict between Taiwan and mainland China, with mainly Taiwanese people believing Beijing has too much power over their affairs. Tension is at an all time high with mainland China renowned for banning celebrities who show a bias and support for Taiwan, and although there's been no news that Hart has been banned from the mainland yet, her fans are waiting on tenterhooks for the singer's faux pas to blow over.

Although Hart performs with the same sunflower dress and props every night, and routinely drapes herself in flags offered up by her audience, many Chinese media outlets are slamming the move for what they see as a blatant act of support for the Taiwanese protests. Eep! Liv just can't keep herself out of trouble, can she?

I really want to be a mom one day but the thing is I honestly can't be trusted to keep any living thing alive, including myself [...] I'm not particularly maternal, that's sort of my twin sister's job, especially since she works as my personal assistant so it's a little bit like having a mom on tour with me all the time anyway. I really want a dog but I've been banned from getting one. My sister bought a pug about a year ago and I wanted one from the same litter so badly, but she said no and instead she got me a stuffed poodle called Marge and told me it was all I could be trusted with. So now Marge comes places with me and sleeps in my bed and sometimes I talk to her like she's real and I think it scares people. Marge is my surrogate puppy until I can have my own puppy, then I'll work my way up to babies by adopting a few dolls first or something.

What do you truthfully think about the rumors Liv is a lesbian and encouraged to act bi for the sake of her label and audience appeal?

Truthfully? I don't think it's any of our business. I think as long as Liv is happy she should love who she wants to love and that's it. I think it's amazing that a pop star on her level and with all her success is openly and proudly part of the LGBTQ community, and exactly how she's a part of that community is up to Liv. If she says she's bi then I'll believe she's bi. I know all her serious relationships seem to be with women but she's been seen dating men, she's been captured by the paparazzi kissing men, and her first marriage was to a man. I don't think Liv is the type to cover herself up like that. She's always been honest with her Hartbeats for better or for worse, she lets us into her life more than a lot of other artists do, let's respect her back by not speculating on her sexuality.
